Hello All, No I used no translator, but I am very wore out from long days of work. So yes my German is bad. Let me explain in English. I recently have statred to work on a new work contract using composites. Within Catia V5 R16. I have tried to use the composite program but have some trouble. Defining Zone Groups: I first have the option for name of the group, then click on the surface , which I do.... Then the Rosette ... But how or what is that? I mean it is (according to the documentation the "x,y,z") the Rosette. What every I click on it uses as the surface, How do I define this or what do I use. I have searched for more information on composite design with catia and is not much. .. For free.. Thx for the help James ------------------ james aka marlincity Eine Antwort auf diesen Beitrag verfassen (mit Zitat/Zitat des Beitrags) IP |

Hello James With rosette they mean the direction for your Ply Zone's and Material Directions. Handle it like the normal Axissystem in the other workbenchs. Adter you create all the zone groups, u must create the different ply for each Zone group with the right Direction, Material, How much Ply's u wonna create for the different Zone. and so on. greets marques [Diese Nachricht wurde von marques_CH am 26. Marques, Like I explained in the beginning, I know Rosette is the axis system. But "How do I select it under the options for creating the group? The menu (create group) will not allow me to select something... How do I select the Rosette? Not what is it.. that I know.. Hello James I think understand what u mean, but i ask again, did u 1 Axissystem in your part? Without a Axissystem u can't select a rosette. I build u a demopart, try to build it also. Maybe u see your error. greets marques Eine Antwort auf diesen Beitrag verfassen (mit Zitat/Zitat des Beitrags) IP |

I understand, I first have to have in defined. No where in the documentation explains that. Defining the axis should be done while I am in the part menu and before I am in the composite menu, or or is there a place in the composite menu. Sounds dumb question but want to make sure.. Because, what I did example.. I created a part then tried to limante it with composites. But forgot to difine the axis, or creating compostis from parts is wrong and should use the surface modeler.. Thanks alot James ------------------ james aka marlincity Eine Antwort auf diesen Beitrag verfassen (mit Zitat/Zitat des Beitrags) IP |

hello james you can define an axis system fron your "define groups" menu. Just right klick klick on the "rosette Field. Mh i can't tell you if create composite from Solid is wrong or not i always use Shape's. if i got a solid part then i create a new Body and copy the outer Shapes with " mehrere extrahieren" (look on the picture below), and set the option to "tangents". With that shape's i beginn to work. greets marques

Good Morning Marques, AAAH! We are getting somewhere.. lol I do not, I (example) creat a box with the part program then go to composites and try to layer composites on top of it (it being the part).. No options (like your jpeg) I have! So, I guess .. I must use the surfacing program.. . I will try it and let you know. Many Thanks from Toulouse James Zitat: Original erstellt von marques_CH: hello jamesyou can define an axis system fron your "define groups" menu. Just right klick klick on the "rosette Field. good morning James U should work with shape's because u got later a function in composite called "Solid from Zones". If u do all the right steps u should got the same solid at the beginning. Thats because i work with "extract", then i can do a visual control from my composite part to the solid i got at the beginning. They speak English in toulouse? I think that was in France greets from Switzerland Eine Antwort auf diesen Beitrag verfassen (mit Zitat/Zitat des Beitrags) IP |

Shape got also another advantage, they dosn't got a Thickness. So you can decide later if you want a negativ oder a positiv tool from your part. In our company we use only the outside shape's. So everyone know about the other talk. marques Eine Antwort auf diesen Beitrag verfassen (mit Zitat/Zitat des Beitrags) IP |
